If you’re planning a trip and looking for hotels from the Hyatt Hotels Corporation chain, you’ve probably come across two popular brands: Hyatt House and Hyatt Place. While both belong to the same parent company and offer excellent service, they’re designed for different types of stays. Here’s a comparison and how to choose the one that best suits your trip.
Differences between Hyatt Place and Hyatt House
Hyatt Place and Hyatt House differ in that the latter is geared toward extended stays. Therefore, Hyatt House offers rooms of varying sizes (unlike Hyatt Place, which offers rooms of a more uniform size). Hyatt House features studios and suites equipped with full kitchens. Both brands cater to families and business travelers, but the two-bedroom suites at Hyatt House can accommodate larger families.
Below is a list of the general differences between Hyatt Place and Hyatt House:

Which one is right for you?
Here are some questions and tips to help you choose between Hyatt Place and Hyatt House:
1. How long will you be staying?
If you’re staying between 1 and 3 nights and tend to go out, Hyatt Place is sufficient.
If you’re staying for a week or more, or if you’re traveling with family, children, or need to cook, Hyatt House is a better option.
2. Do you need a kitchen/living area or do you prefer to eat out?
If you want to prepare some meals (especially for children) or have more space to relax, choose Hyatt House.
If you prefer eating out or ordering food delivery and just need a comfortable room, Hyatt Place is perfect.
3. Who are you traveling with and what are your needs?
Families, groups, or business travelers: space is important → Hyatt House.
Solo business travelers or couples looking for a more comfortable stay: Hyatt Place.
4. Location and price
Compare hotels: even within the same brand, there are variations in price, location, and room type.
If the Hyatt House in a particular city is significantly more expensive than the Hyatt Place, and you don’t need the extra space or a kitchen, you could choose the Hyatt Place and save money.
5. Loyalty program and points
If you’re a member of the World of Hyatt program, both brands allow you to earn and redeem points. Therefore, your choice won’t affect your account balance.
